Yarra Valley Respiratory provides expert lung function testing. Testing is to help diagnose or monitor your breathing. These tests help the doctors make treatment decisions if any are needed.

Allow for your appointment to take at least 30 minutes
What to expect
You will be taken to the testing room and asked to have a seat.
All patients will then be asked to take their shoes off so that their height and weight can be taken.
Height in particular is essential to calculate what your results should be.
After height and weight measurements have been taken, patents will then have a seat in the testing box.
The box door will remain open for most of the test. It will only be closed if a very special lung function test has been ordered.

All patients must have a valid referral from a GP or specialist.
What happens during lung function testing?
Lung function tests measure how well you breathe and how effectively your lungs move air.
Are the tests uncomfortable?
Most tests are straightforward and painless. The tests involve different types of breathing manoeuvres. The tests can make you feel a little dizzy or lightheaded at times but there is plenty of opportunity to rest to try and avoid this occuring.

Appointments typically take 30 minutes

Bring your referral, Medicare details, and medication list.
